Abstract

Insulinoma is very rare, as well as insulin secreting tumor in or adjacent to the pancreas. We experienced two cases of insulinoma; one was typical insulinoma and the other was combined with nesidioblastosis. We reviewed these two cases of insulinoma as well as the literature. The following conclusions were made: 1) During operation for insulinoma, multiple adenomatosis nesidioblastosis and islet cell hyperplasia should be considered. 2) Increasing serum glucose level during operation may not be an accurate indicator of complete resection of pathologic lesion.
